About Me
Prof. Vladislav Popov is a vice-rector of research and projects at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Prof. Dr. Vladislav Popov is an internationally recognized scientist, expert and advisor in the fields of agroecology, organic farming and environmental protection, author of over 120 scientific and applied works. Member of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) at the European Commission and the Management Board of the European Food Forum at the European Parliament.
Educated in Moscow and Plovdiv (BSc, 1993), he is an MSc from the Wageningen Agricultural University, the Netherlands (1996) and a PhD from the University of Western Sydney, Australia (2005).
National Coordinator and Chairman of the Executive Board of the National Scientific Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria – “Healthy Foods for a Strong Bioeconomy and Quality of Life” (2018-2022) and “Smart crop production”(2021-2024). Leads the AU expert group for the preparation of a technical assignment of the Ministry of Agriculture “Analysis of the impact of agriculture on the state of the environment and climate change as a fundamental element of the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy of the Republic of Bulgaria for the program period 2020-2027.”
